There are some rules you need to know when it comes to resetting a Facebook password whether on mobile or web. This includes having access to your Facebook phone number and email address to receive the Facebook password reset confirmation code. However, if you do not have access to either of these information you may likely not be able to use the Facebook forgot password to reset your account.
So, in this guide, I will teach you how to recover your Facebook password without a confirmation code if you think your Facebook account has been compromised by a hacker and also detail how you can recover your forgotten Facebook password using the confirmation code.
How to Recover Facebook Password Without Confirmation Reset Code
The steps to recover a hacked Facebook account aren’t the same as resetting your Facebook account password. If your Facebook account is hacked it’s possible that the hacker would have changed your account phone number and email to receive a password reset confirmation code. However, Facebook provides a different process to recover a hacked Facebook account by answering a few questions.
- Go to web.facebook.com/hacked on your web browser
- Click on “My account is compromised.” This allows you to report to Facebook that your account has been hijacked or taken over by an unknown user.”
- Enter your account “email” address and click “search”. This allows Facebook to search their database for a match or if there is a match but later change to a new email address. This will give Facebook the idea to know that you are the owner of the compromised Facebook account.
- Do not enter your phone number since you may not be able to receive the Facebook password recovery confirmation code.
- If the email you provided matches any account detail on the database Facebook will present you with your Facebook profile picture. However, you will be prompted to enter your last password or the password that you can remember. Type your password and hit “Continue.” You can also cancel the process or if the profile isn’t your process just click on “Not You” so that you can search again.
- If the password you entered matches any of your old passwords Facebook will tell you when the password was changed. However, if you don’t know the new password to your Facebook account hit “Secure my Account” or use the “Password Reset” tab to reset your forgotten Facebook account.
- Facebook will prompt you to use your “Google Account.” Here you have the option to log into your Facebook account with your password or hit the “Continue” button to process with your Google account. However, if you want to log in with a unique password you need to hit “Login with Password.”
- To log into the Facebook account with your “Google Account” hit the “Continue” button.
- A pop-up will appear in a new tab to log into your Facebook account with your Gmail account.
- To log in to the account with your password hit “Login with Password.”
- Enter your “Password” and hit the “Continue” button to proceed.
- To log into the Facebook account with your “Google Account” hit the “Continue” button.
- If none of the steps above work then you need to hit “Try Another” on the account secure page to log into your account using either your Google account, receive a confirmation code to your email or enter your password to log in.
In some cases, Facebook will pop a notification that a confirmation code will be sent to the associated email address. However, if you have access to the email address, choose the option as this seems to be the quickest way to receive a Facebook confirmation code to reset your forgotten password or recover your hijacked Facebook account.
- Once Facebook pops a notification to send a “Verification Code” to your account email address then hit the “Continue” button.
- Facebook will send the confirmation code to all the email addresses associated with the Facebook account. Open the Gmail account on your device, get the confirmation code, enter it into the column provided and hit “Continue.”
- If you didn’t see the code hit “Didn’t see the code” to allow Facebook to give you more options to choose from to access or recover your Facebook account.
- Facebook will prompt you to set a new password. Now, type a unique password that is different from the old password and hit the “Continue” button.
- If your Facebook profile didn’t load instantly click on the “Profile icon at the top right and choose “See all Profiles”, select the profile you want to access and hit the “Facebook” icon at the top left.
