If that is the case, let’s start with how it all started and who started it.

ChatGPT was founded by Elon Musk and Altman in 2015 (although Elon Musk has left chatGPT).

The Open AI ChatGPT project was recently released after a series of prototypes and now a lot of people are suddenly jumping into it.

You’d be surprised at what you can do with this artificial intelligence chatbot that was recently released,

Anyway, since you are here, I will be breaking down more about ChatGPT, including how to use ChatGPT and 9 of the cool stuff you can do with ChatGPT.

What is ChatGPT

ChatGPT is an artificial intelligence chatbot that is trained to follow instructions promptly while providing detailed and precise responses using AI and machine learning.

You would be shocked at how accurate this AI tool can get. However, that is not all ChatGPT can do.

Apart from chatting with you and giving you brilliant responses, it can correct grammar, break down difficult concepts into simple ones, change movie titles into emojis, write Bash scripts, and even debug programming code.

Surprised, right? You should, but that doesn’t make it complex to operate.

Before coming across this website, you may have thought that chatGPT could only be accessed by someone techy. However, I am here to debunk that by breaking down the simple steps anyone can follow to get started using chatGPT.

Note: To reduce any occurrence of error while creating an account, you need to have an email address and phone number from one of the countries supported by chatGPT.

If all that is sorted out, let’s get started with the procedures listed below.

• Visit OpenAI and create an account
• Enter your Email and Password
• Alternatively, you can signup with your google account
• Afterwards, a link will be sent to your email for confirmation
• Click the link and enter our phone number for verification
• Once verified, log in with your credentials
• Choose for Personal use
• Now, select the feature you want. Let’s start a conversation so choose Text to command
• Enter your question beside Q and submit it to get a response

NB: once you create a new account, you will be given $18 of free credit for 3 months.

Can a Beginner use ChatGPT?

Just as I mentioned above, an absolute beginner can make use of ChatGPT; maybe you’ve been exposed to their marketing message calling open AI an open AI API.

That shouldn’t put you off from trying, as you can access the cool stuff from the playground alone without having to write any code whatsoever.

After creating an account, you will be taken to the ChatGPT dashboard, where you will be able to perform some cool tricks.

If you’ve opened a ChatGPT account, you would be amazed at how far AI can go to replicate humans, especially when you begin to use features such as “friendly chat” Q & A” and the programming debug features.

Most of the things you should be able to do using the ChatGPT app are located in the playground.

The settings and the task you want to perform have to be set on the playground. So depending on what you want to do, below are the things you can do with ChatGPT for now.

Its abilities are limitless; all you need to do is enter some instructions on the playground, and you get specific text generated for you based on what you specify.

There are a lot of uses beyond what I listed above on the various ways you can use chatGPT; you might not have come across some of them, but it will sure give you a pause on the job you’re clinging to because, with structures like this, you can be easily replaced.

But learning how it works gives you some leverage, so here are 9 cool things you can use ChatGPT for.

1. Complete a Progression

As crazy as it might sound, you only need to enter some words and it will generate an almost perfect progression for you.

Doing this on your own will take you minutes, if not hours, of research, but ChatGPT seems to do it within the twinkle of an eye.

If you’ve created an account on GPT, all you have to do is go to the playground and enter these, for example. You can change it to whatever you want.

2. Use as a Linux terminal

This might sound a bit shocking but it works, all you need is to enter these instructions below the playground input box

“I want you to act as a Linux terminal. I will type commands and you will reply with what the terminal should show. I want you to only reply with the terminal output inside one unique code block, and nothing else. Do not write explanations. Do not type commands unless I instruct you to do so. When I need to tell you something in English I will do so by putting text inside curly brackets {like this}. My first command is pwd”

After entering this instruction simply click on submit and you would have a terminal-looking interface inside the input box

3. Scan through and debug your code

If you are a programmer and you are struggling to understand or figure out where the problem is in a block of code, You can simply paste the section where you feel the problem is coming from and add it to the ChatGPT playground like these:

You need to up your game if you are a programmer.

You might feel that learning the basics of coding and sitting on it is enough, but with the advent of chatGPT, you can write chunks of code by simply describing what you want it to do in English without writing a single line of code.

However, software engineering has its complexities, so it might take a while for AI to completely replace software engineers.

One of the few things AI and machine learning suck at is when a task involves a lot of creativity.

That’s one of the reasons why Canva cannot completely replace graphic designers, and video templates cannot completely replace video editors.

ChatGPT does this in a matter of seconds, and the corrections are always flawless. You could tell when you translated a few paragraphs yourself. However, it might not offer as much ability to edit corrections, adjust tones, or improve readability as Grammarly.

But it does a pretty decent job.
