You may want to access your Android phone settings from app menu or by swiping down the device screen and click on settings.
Scroll down the page and click on Apps or applications depending on your device naming. But mostly, it’s apps.
The list of apps you installed on your device will shown up. In fact, I have 84 apps installed on my device including pre-installed apps and the one I manually installed myself. Having 84 good apps running on my phone at the same time will consume my data within limited time. Now click on the app you want to turn off background data on.

Toggle the background data icon to turn it off. Once that is done then the app background data will be turn off.

Then turn off the entire apps by clicking on each of them. This will disable background data for each of the apps on your Android phone.
