If your Windows or Mac or Android/iPhone do not meet these requirements above, you will not be able to set your favourite video as your Zoom app background on PC (Windows/Mac) and mobile (Android/iPhone).
Recommendation Setup for Best Result on Zoom with Video Background
You wouldn’t want the background video to interfere with your image during the meeting. Therefore, these settings are recommended.
- Choose or set a green background screen for the best result.
- We recommend that you use a high-quality camera for the best results.
- Both lighting and colour should be uniform.
- Do not wear cloth that has the same background or colour as the video background colour.

How to Set Video Background on Zoom Meet App on Desktop on Personal Account
Let’s start by enabling the virtual background on your Zoom personal account.
- Sign in to your Zoom account.
- Tap on Menu >> Settings.
- Go to “Meeting tab >>Virtual Background.”
- Toggle “ON” to enable photo or video background.
- Upload the video you want to use as your Zoom account background.
How to Enable Zoom Video Background in a Group for Some Selected Members
This feature can also be used to change some group members’ Zoom background to video backgrounds.
- Sign in to the Zoom web portal (You need an administrative right to do this). If you are not an admin of the group, you need to request permission to do that.
- Go to Menu >>User management >>Group management.
- Tap on the name of the group.
- Tap “Meeting” to access group settings.
- Navigate to “Virtual Background” and toggle the feature to enable it.
- Tap “Manage virtual background” and upload the video to be used as the group background.
If you are unable to upload video as your Zoom background, update to version 5.1.1.
How to Enable Zoom Virtual Background Feature to Show Videos as Background to all Users in the Account.
Here you can enable the virtual background to all users in the Zoom account.
- Sign in to the Zoom account as an administrator.
- Navigate to “Account Management >> Account Settings.
- Go to “Meetings >> Virtual Background” You can find this under the “Advanced section.”
- Toggle to enable the feature to set video as background to all users in the account.
- Tap “Manage Virtual Background.”
- Upload the video from your device to your Zoom account.
However, as an admin or a participant, you can disable the Background video in your Zoom account if not locked. But, if you want the video to be made default to all users tap on the lock feature to lock the background video settings.
