Today I got my heart broken by Google when I tried to log in to my Android phone after a hard reset via cmd when it kept telling my “sign in with one of your Google accounts to continue“. Then, I know why it is very important to remove Google account from Android phone before doing a hard reset.
While this happens, I did make my research afterward on how to sort myself out. Because literally, to format Android phone is a straightforward procedure but today I learned it even the hardest way and also got to know that before you format any Android phone always try as much as you can to remove your Google account.
Let me quickly sound this warning about formatting your phone. I made mistakes for not deleting my Gmail account on my Android phone before doing a hard reset, and it took my additional 72 hours to get it back.
Warning: You cannot remove Google account from Android phone after factory reset via cmd.
If you did factory reset on your Android phone via device settings you may likely not have the same issue login to your device. But the best way to do this is to log out your Gmail account first, clear your app cache, clear Gmail cache, and then format your Android phone.
In some cases, you may need to format your Android phone permanently to do a factory reset of your phone using the cmd when you boot into your device pressing power key + volume down simultaneously
I can tell you I don’t just decide to format my phone or do a hard reset. But the decision came to my mind when the hotspot stopped working. And if it works at all, it switches on/off in a regular interval automatically.
How to Remove Google Account From Android Phone
I did everything within my reach to make sure I was able to log into my Google account on my phone after formatted it permanently but all effort proved futile. I read so many forum posts, lots of fixed solution from popular tech blogs such as this XDA forum, Androidpit, Lenovo site, the Google forum, and this finally solved the problem.
These are the few of the articles I read when I got stuck when I wanted to log on my Android phone after formatted it using a hard reset that will delete everything permanently and return my phone back to the way it used to be before.
Note: I tried all Gmail account I have tried on it, the one for Gmail, Google plus, Google Play Store, etc but none work except the information in the post above.

How to Remove Google Account From Android Phone
Here is how to remove any associated Google account to your Android phone and clear data cache so that you won’t have problem logging to your smartphone once you have been able to format it successfully.
Power on your Android phone and click on settings from the phone menu or swipe down your phone and click on settings.
Scroll the page until you get to Account options. For most phone, like Infinix you’ll have Other accounts and XAccount. Click on other account option.
There you have all account associated with your phone. The most common account you will likely have under the other accounts option include Facebook, Google, Messenger, and WhatsApp. So, since we are interested in removing Google account, click on Google icon.
Note: If you have more than one account logged in on your phone you will see the entire list. Below the account, you will things like app data, Calendar, Contacts, Drive, Gmail, Google Fit Data, Google play music and people details.
Now, click on the ellipsis (3-dots) to the upper right of the page and click on REMOVE under sync now.
A new window will pop up seeking your confirmation to remove the account. Always put at the back of your mind that removing the account will delete all of its messages, contacts, and other data from the phone. Then click on REMOVE ACCOUNT.
A new window will pop up again, click on OK. For security reasons, you will be asked to log in to your phone providing your password or unlock your phone or grant fingerprint access to start
The next thing you will see after the above screen will start removing your Google account from the phone. However, you may have to add another Gmail account or Google account to use the phone after you have successfully formatted the phone permanently.
The reason why you need to remove Google account from Android phone before formatting it is for you to be able to add another primary Gmail address when you reinstall your device OS again. Otherwise, you still the old Google account to complete first timer registration.
