- The Epic Games version of Rocket League does not currently support voice chat.

And for those times when you need to express yourself, you have the option to “chat”.
By default, the text chat function is activated by pressing the “T” key. Like the Voice Chat button, it can be assigned to any button you want using the instructions above. Alternative solution on how to voice chat in Rocket League # 2: Use a third-party service
If you want to keep using the voice chat feature in Rocket League, we recommend using a service like Discord. This way you can chat in real-time with your friends via voice or video chat and even share your game with them. You can also use Discord to build your community so you don’t have to interact with other Rocket League players. The downside to this solution is that you can only chat with other team members and players using Discord if they have already been added to your Discord. Here’s a clear guide that will get you up and running with Discord with Rocket League in no time.
If you haven’t already, download Discord for your PC from this link and install it on your system. Once installed, double-click the icon to launch Discord.
Once Discord has launched, you will be asked to log into your account. Sign in if you already have an account, or use the Create Account feature to create a new account.
You will now log into Discord. First click on the “+” symbol in the left sidebar of your screen.
On this screen, select the Games template.
Now enter a name for your new server.
When you’re done, click “Create” in the lower right corner of the dialogue box.
Your game server has been created. Click “Invite Friends” to begin.
You will now receive a temporary link that your friends can use to join your new server. Copy this link and send it using the communication method of your choice, either email or instant messaging.
Once your friend clicks the link, they will be able to join your Discord server and should appear in the participant list on the tab on the far right of your Discord server window.
Now click on “Games” in the left sidebar of your screen to join the language server. Ask your friends to do the same.
You should now be logged in and able to chat with everyone. You can use the various controls below to use the Discord broadcast as you wish. Now you can just go back to the Rocket League and have a new party with your boyfriend. Then you should be able to chat with them while playing a game using Discord in the background.
