Hailstone served his jail term at the Anchorage Correctional Complex. His wife and daughters had to survive all by themselves without him for the 10 months and they revealed they missed him greatly.
Why did Chip Hailstone go to Jail?
It all started on the 13th of July, 2011, when his stepson Jonathan Carter got himself involved in a fight with another family in Noorvik. Chip has said a neighbour pointed a firearm at Jon.
Chip also mentioned that an Alaskan state trooper, Christopher Bitz violently abused his then 17-year-old daughter Tinmiaq during one of the consequent questioning sessions with troopers.
Chip, however, requested a restraining order for his daughter and later appealed his perjury convictions.
Chip Hailstone was sentenced to 15 months in prison after being convicted on two charges of perjury and two charges of making false statements to the police.
During that period, he was on probation for using contemporary weaponry due to legal matters, and his wife, Agnes had to shoot during the hunting sessions.
Chip served ten months in prison out of a total of fifteen months before he was released in the spring of 2017. He was found not guilty of all charges in December 2017.
