Airpods are just one fascinating smart device and are probably the best. From the generation of sound “personalization” systems, Airpods are now the most comfortable and the smartest.
I recall when it was all about the Airpod like but wired earpiece and then, the first attempt to go wireless was this huge thing known as Bluetooth headsets.
They were nice but very uncomfortable. then it started getting smaller and comfortable, ended up being small but had to be just one ear. I never got one of those all through the period it trended because I thought that was some stupid thing and it is.
No doubt it was wireless, it was small and comfortable but how am I supposed to get all the feel from just one ear when I have two of the ears. it is like chewing with just one side of your teeth, how numb.
But then, they kept working on it and the next time we saw a smart earpiece it was partly wired and partly wireless, small, fairly comfortable and of course on both ears.
Then came the Airpods, first in-ear headphones with double wireless pods designed to adapt to the shape of your ear blocking out the outside world so you can focus on what you are listening to.
They came with the amazement. Small, portable, comfortable with Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) just all we’ve been hoping for.
First of all, we need to understand why anyone would want to ask if AirPods are waterproof because it doesn’t make sense to me. I mean, it’s like asking if I angrily aim my iPhone 11 pro to my annoying son and I hits the wall, will it break open? of course, it will.
We in most weird ways with the outcome of our actions are fairly justified because of our intentions. So people like me who can’t go a day without music; I go over 20 hours a day on AirPods given that they are very comfortable and only take it off for two reasons, to charge them or just when we need to make contact with water like bathing.
I will sleep with kinds of music banging in my ear and I’ll stay with them all day long. Now, this makes a lot of sense to me as regarding why we would want our AirPods waterproof. we wish we could just Incorporate that tiny object to becoming one of our body systems so we would be able to bath with them, sweat with them and stay in the rain with them.
Well, AirPods are not waterproof and Apple will not replace AirPods damaged by water. That doesn’t mean they twitch at the slightest contact with water or sweat, no.
They are water and sweat resistant which means they can stand a certain measure of contact but not hook line. I hope, with the rate of technological advancement, in the nearest future we might get some we could even swim with.
Although I don’t see the possibility in that because; you see, the structure around sound and sound waves and the mechanism that makes that happen can not be compatible with the properties of water.
That is why we can talk in water too. Besides the electronic deficiency to water; there can be ways to go around that, sounds are contained in space and water abhors a vacuum.
So as sad as it seems for us music freaks, our AirPods can be water or sweat resistance but not water or sweatproof. they are not designed for use in water or water-related activities like swimming or even showering and you might want to take them off when under the rain.
Their wireless charging case either are not waterproof, they are not even water resistance so you should be careful with that not to get it anywhere near water or sweat.
As you make the most of your Airpods, just make sure as much as possible you keep them away from much water and much sweat. You can work out with your Airpods but just up to the moment you start getting soak sweats and it’s OK to shower with your Airpod if you can keep water away from your head, I’ve done that before…true story.
