This article is our step-by-step guide on how to download and install Litematica in Minecraft 1.14.4. Litematica lets you import and use blueprints into Minecraft to make building easier, add new things to Minecraft, and even move buildings from one world to another.
The limits to building and reading in Minecraft 1.14.4 are endless. I want to mention that this tutorial is for Minecraft 1.14.4 only as Litematic has a different installation process for older versions of Minecraft. However, let’s see how to download and install Litematica in Minecraft 1.14.4+
What is Litematica in Minecraft 1.14+?
Litematica is a new schematic mod that has been rewritten from the ground up and is intended for light mod loaders (client-side) like LiteLoader under 1.12.x, Rift under 1.13.x and Fabric under 1.14+.
It has all the functions of the old Schematica mod except for the printer (which is also planned) and many more.
Properties of Litematica
The main feature of a schematic mod is the display of a “hologram” version of a structure that shows you exactly how to create the structure and where to place the blocks. It also includes an overlay (configurable) to show missing, additional, or misplaced blocks.
Litematica also has a good parts list, including a parts list HUD that you can use to collect the materials needed to build it.
There is also a schema checking feature, including an overlay, that allows you to scan the entire area of the schema and check for errors. This can be extremely useful, especially on the Tech/Redstone versions where small bugs can break everything.
There are also various help functions for creative mode only, e.g., Fill, replace, delete and an insert mode for “inserting” diagrams in the world (immediately / directly in single-player mode with the commands/setblock in multiplayer mode).

2. Download Litematica
Before we can install Litematica we need to download it. So let’s get started. You can download Litematica by clicking here. This brings you to CurseForge. Once on this site, click the Files tab and select the version of Litematica to install. If you want to play Litematica in Minecraft 1.14.4, you need to select version 1.14.4. When you have found the version of Litematica you want, click the small download arrow next to the version name. This will start the download. You may need to keep or save the file. It’s 100% Safe!
3. Install Litematica
You downloaded Litematica, but how you do it, you install it. Well, it is very simple. Just press the Windows key on your keyboard and “R” at the same time. This will open the Run program. Enter “% appdata%” in the search field. This will open the Roaming folder on your computer. At the top of this folder you will see a program called “.minecraft”. Open that folder, and you should have a folder called “mods”. Otherwise create one.
Once you’ve found or created your “Mods” folder, installing Litematica is easy. Just take it, drag it and put it in this “Mods” folder. Once that’s done, the changes will be installed. We’re not done yet, however. We always have to make sure we choose the right version of Minecraft.
4. Open Minecraft Launcher and select the “Fabric” profile
To choose the right version of Minecraft we need to open the normal Minecraft launcher that we will let you know and love. From there we can click the up arrow next to the “Play” button. From there, you’ll find the profile titled “Substance”. Then click the big green “Play” button. Then Minecraft should start with the installed Voxel Minimap.
Congratulations! Litematica is already installed! Have fun, build things or install other mods.
The best way to use:
The default keyboard shortcut to open the Game Settings GUI is M + C. For example, if you’re in the AZERTY keyboard layout as an alternative, the keys are completely different and M + C becomes + C as an alternative, etcetera.
Note: You probably have Optifine installed, so there are options that you will likely want to disable in Optifine, otherwise it will corrupt the schematic:
Render areas should be disabled
Shaders should be disabled or SET to OFF in the basic video settings and disable the “schematicOverlayModelOutline” and “schematicOverlayModelSides” options in the Visuals class.
Fast rendering may need to be turned off too, but if there are some weird HUD / GUI render points
The best way to configure:
- Get Minecraft Launcher Vanilla and configure it
- Get the hardware installer for Vanilla Launcher and configure it
- Run the RECENTLY downloaded JAR file, select the template you want, and click Configure.
- Start Minecraft, select the profile with the material placed and hit the play button
- Tap Start on the desktop
- Choose Run
- Type% appdata% in Run and hit Enter.
- Go to Roaming / .minecraft / mods
- Put the jar. Recordsdata in the mods folder and run Minecraft.
